Where can a skip be placed?
A skip can sit on suitable private property such as a driveway, provided there is safe access. Placement on a road, pavement or verge requires the correct permit, signage and lights.
Do I need permission from the local authority?
Only when the skip will be on a public road, pavement or verge. The council charges a permit fee, which varies by authority. We can organise it for you.
How quickly can you deliver?
Same-day delivery is often available, subject to stock, access and location. A skip requiring a council permit may take up to five working days to arrange.
How do I choose the right skip size?
Call us with the waste type and approximate volume. We will recommend an appropriate size and explain any weight restrictions, particularly for soil and hardcore.
What access does the delivery vehicle need?
Skip lorries are large commercial vehicles. The route and placement area must be wide, firm and clear of low branches, cables, parked cars and other obstructions. If you are unsure, ask us before delivery.
Do you work with builders and contractors?
Yes. We provide skip hire, grab loader services, rubbish collection and flexible arrangements for trades, businesses, offices and building sites.
How long can I keep the skip?
The standard maximum hire period is two weeks unless agreed otherwise. Longer hire can be arranged; the existing additional charge is £20 per week.
What can I put in the skip?
General and inert waste is accepted. Fluorescent tubes, fridges, freezers, asbestos, paint, aerosols, tarmac, solvents, liquids and batteries require separate handling. Contact us before loading any uncertain item.
Is the waste recycled?
Waste is taken to a licensed transfer station and recycled wherever possible. We aim to send at least 90% for recycling.

How do I arrange collection?
If you did not choose a collection date when booking, contact us when the skip is ready. Please do not overfill it above the sides.
When is a wasted-journey fee charged?
A £60 call-out or wasted-journey fee may apply when we cannot safely deliver or collect—for example, if access is blocked, the placement area is unsuitable or insufficient space was reserved.
