Permits for Skip Hire
We arrange permit paperwork needed with the local authorities in order to place the skip on a public highway (Please note that authorities need 5 working days to arrange permits if it is to be placed on the public highway).

General Question:
WHERE CAN THE SKIPS BE PLACED?
Skips cannot be placed on the highway without a permit and correct signage and lights. If you cannot place on private land (remember the grass verge outside your house may not be owned by you!) we will organise the necessary permit with the relevant local authority.
DO I NEED PERMISSION FROM THE LOCAL AUTHORITY WHEN HIRING A SKIP?
Only if you want the skip to be placed on the road, pavement or verge. The council will charge a fee for the licence, which varies depending on what local authority you come under.
I NEED A SKIP QUICKLY, HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT?
We can deliver your skip on the same day as it’s ordered or within 24 hours if you require a permit.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE SKIP I WILL NEED?
We will be happy to discuss your requirements and advise you on a solution to suit your specific needs.
WHERE CAN THE SKIP BE LEFT?
We will leave your skip in the most convenient location, which might be the driveway or organise for the skip to go on the road. They can also be at business, office and factory locations. As the vehicles delivering to your house are LGV’s and normally very large, please make sure that there is sufficient access to allow it in/out safely. If you are unsure, please contact us and we can provide you with the approximate dimensions required.
DO YOU OFFER A SERVICE FOR BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS?
Yes we do, as we are a Licensed and registered Waste Carrier company.
HOW LONG CAN I KEEP THE SKIP FOR?
Without prior agreement the maximum rental period is two weeks. If you think you’ll require the skip for a longer period, please let us know at time of booking, so that we can mutually agree a hire period. If no agreement is in place we reserve the right to collect the skip from the 11th day onwards without notice.
WHAT CAN I PUT IN THE SKIP?
Skips are for general and inert waste only. You can’t put in florescent tubes, fridges and freezers, asbestos, paint, aerosols, tarmac, solvents, liquids, batteries. For a full list of things that cannot be put in a skip please contact us.
IS THE RUBBISH RECYCLED?
The rubbish is taken to a waste transfer station, and recycled wherever possible. We endeavour to make sure that at least 90% waste will be sent for recycling.
HOW DO I HIRE A SKIP?
Simply call us today for a free no-obligation quote, or use the contact form and we will call you. We will be pleased to offer help and advice on hiring your skip, skip permit applications and choosing the best size skip for the job. Payment methods include cash or cheque, or debit / credit card.
HOW DO I ARRANGE FOR MY SKIP TO BE COLLECTED?
If you did not specify a collection date when ordering, please contact us to arrange collection.

Skips can normally be delivered within a 10 mile radius from Shepperton but we’ll be pleased to discuss this with you when you get in touch. View map for more details.
WHEN WOULD WE CHARGE A "CALL OUT" FEE?
When we are unable to deliver the skip, such as: your garden is too small; you did not secure enough space.

HOW MUCH IS A "CALL OUT" FEE / WASTED JOURNEY?
we charge £60 for a wasted journey.
